CIS Software
Down Time
The Facts
Our Record Speaks For
Itself!
CIS software is an online software application and is called an SaaS
solution. Since it resides on a virtual server, many customers
and/or potential customers ask us how often is the software solution
not available for use?
Software as a service
(SaaS) is a software application delivery model where a
software vendor develops a web-native software application and hosts
and operates (either independently or through a third-party) the
application for use by its customers over the Internet. Customers do
not pay for owning the software itself but rather for using it. They
use it through an API accessible over the Web and often written
using Web Services or REST. The term SaaS has become the industry
preferred term, generally replacing the earlier terms Application
Service Provider (ASP) and On-Demand.
CIS is a SaaS Solution!
Obviously, there is always a potential threat that CIS Software will
not be available. However, we have taken all precautions to ensure
that this threat is virtually impossible. Our software is hosted by
a company specializing in SaaS solutions who have redundant systems
on a virtual server to guarantee ZERO DOWNTIME.
However, with all that planning and preventive actions implemented,
even the software Giant Microsoft goes down (Click
Here). The history of down time on CIS Software is actually
quite excellent. The only downtime that we experienced was an
11-hour downtime in 2003 when the internet across the south east of
the United States was down due to major hardware failures. This
failure affected all of the south east and all websites that
originated from these states. Since then, we have only interrupted
service for less than 5-minutes when we must re-boot our servers due
to software and security updates that are very important to ensure
continued security of all of our customer's information.
Our programmers only update CIS features during the evening hours of
between 12:00 AM - 6:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. Software
programming updates may take approximately 20-minutes. If you are a
night owl working on CIS during this time, you most likely will be
logged off and will not be able to log back on until the update is
complete.
In conclusion, our performance record tells it all...
